Formed in 1994 by singer-songwriter Jay Moran, Emmettville is comprised of some of Madison's finest musicians: Jay Moran, Jon Vriescker, Robert Schoville, Phil Lyons and Tom Dehlinger (and sometimes Dave Adler of Gomer's fame). Playing mostly original tunes in the Folk, Country, Rock and Soul traditions, Emmettville has shared the stage with Los Lobos, Sonia Dada, Willy Porter, Peter Himmelman, Marshall Crenshaw and more.
DAYLIGHT IN THE SWAMP 8pm
The merging of these five very distinct personalities and differing musical backgrounds and tastes results in a very unique sound. With a broad spectrum of material, they can bang out traditional versions of the classics, but at the same time, aren’t afraid to incorporate songs from other genres. The band's mission is to preserve the hard-driving traditional bluegrass sound, while including some material from other musical styles. Their work can best be described as “Music with a Bluegrass Accent."
